Massage

“All Registered – All the Time”
Massage Therapy is provided by Registered Massage Therapists. Our RMT’s have the highest recognized qualifications in Canada and are licensed by the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. Many extended medical plans cover services by an RMT. Our Massage Therapists can accelerate recovery from old and new injuries with techniques such as deep tissue work, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, and craniosacral therapy. Registered Massage Therapists can also provide excellent sport or relaxation massages. You do not need to be injured to reap the benefits of these highly trained massage therapists.

Acupuncture

Physiotherapists who are also certified in Acupuncture use anatomically based acupuncture in conjunction with other physical therapy treatments for optimal healing. Anatomically based acupuncture involves the placement of needles into affected areas to promote blood flow and muscle relaxation.

IMS

IMS is a dry-needling technique based on a radiculopathy model for chronic pain. It is effective for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain with muscle/nerve dysfunction. IMS is used to release tight areas that can cause pain in muscle, tendons and joints. Physiotherapists who are trained in the Gunn IMS technique provide this service.

Orthotics

Custom prescription foot orthotics are precision medical devices that are designed to adjust and control the function of the foot and its alignment with the lower leg. They are used to treat/prevent injury causing motions including excessive pronation (collapsing in) and supination (rolling out) and make standing, walking and running more efficient. Some prescription orthotics are designed to redistribute pressures on the bottom of your foot to alleviate pain from corns, calluses or boney prominences.
Genuine, custom-made prescription foot orthotics are made by starting with a thorough exam by a qualified physiotherapist followed by the taking of cast impressions using plaster and the completion of a detailed prescription form. Your casts and prescription form are then sent to a professional Lab - Paris Orthotics - where your orthotics are made by technicians with appropriate training and qualifications.

Splints and Taping

Thermoplastic, custom molded splints are available for skier’s thumb, carpal tunnel syndrome, protection following cast removal, and finger injuries. Taping of various joints is also available.

Vestibular Rehabilitation and Balance Retraining

Most dizziness and balance problems come from a disturbance of the vestibular apparatus located in the inner ear, or its connections in the brain. The trained physiotherapist will do a one-on-one evaluation and provide education regarding the vestibular system, assessment findings and treatment recommendations. It has proven to be an effective therapy to reduce or even eliminate the symptoms in most cases.
